About the Event
The International HundredK+ Cohorts Consortium (IHCC) hosted the 5th International Cohorts Summit (ICS5) virtually November 29 through December 2, 2022. The theme of the summit was:
The Journey to Globally Accelerate Science, Diversity, and Global Health in Longitudinal Populations Studies

Summit Learning Objectives
- How to develop a federated platform for global cohort discovery, access, and integration of cloud based cohort analysis environments.
- How to engage, learn, and disseminate best practices from diverse IHCC stakeholders and partners with a specific emphasis on those from Low- and Middle-Income Countries and Low Resource Settings (LMIC/LRS):
- To meet the needs of all cohorts
- To promote inclusion in research and reduce disparities in capacity
- To assist in workforce development to support the cohorts’ sustainability.
- How to deliver evergreen and agile processes for policies to promote and support the optimal development and access to the cohorts’ resources.
- How to catalyze and accelerate the development of the IHCC cohorts’ resources through a scientific agenda that aligns with:
- Enhancing inclusion of diversity cohorts from LRS/LMICs and contributing to closing the existing ancestral and minority population gaps in databases
- Enhancing cohorts’ capabilities, interoperability, and standardization for sample collection, assays, phenotypes, and digital health data.
